Raya, RaYa, rAyA

On last Friday night, 20 members of McMaster Conquerors a.k.a MASAM went to Mahal Restaurant to eat buffet to celebrate the coming Raya. I will tell my story through the photos below.

The name of the restaurant is Mahal Restaurant, but the price of the buffet is affordable, only CAD $14.78.

This is just a random photo by my friend, Saru.

The inferior design of the restaurant is pretty good. I like the environment.

This thing is called custard. The taste is not bad, I had never ate custard before. It's actually a mix of ice-cream and cake.

Well, I am still the champion. Five rounds, not bad hah?!

See this long table? 20 McMaster's conquerors were having our dinner here.

Again, this is just a random picture. This building is Jackson Square, the ground floor is a shopping square. I always come here to shopping. n_n

Thinking about iPhone

I wanna purchase a cell-phone so I have done a little research on the prices of cell-phones in Canada. I bought my Nokia 5300 with $500 in Ringgit Malaysia( approximate to $156 Canadian Dollars). But when I found that the local price for the same cell-phone is $34.99 Canadian Dollars, I almost fainted down.

Oh my gosh, why is the price so different?!

Then another surprise is, an iPhone only costs $199.99 Canadian Dollars (same price with Nokia N95)! Oh my gosh, I want it!

But my financial conditions do not allow me to purchase it right now. May be a few weeks or months later when I have enough money, I will grab it home! >_<
Ahhh, I want it!!!

I am a freezing bear......

It's damn cold every night. I have no idea what is the temperature outside but I can feel the coldness inside. My air-conditioning room makes the situation worse.

I am a freezing bear at night.

I hope the winter will fall as soon as possible so that I can hibernate. Just kidding. I am not a real bear though my friends know that I am a "bear".

Frankfurt Airport

What a coincidence to meet them up here in KLIA!

The plane that I was taking to Frankfurt, Germany.

Says hello to Mr.McDonald.

First of all, tomorrow is national day for my home-country---Malaysia. So, cheers to Malaysia, you are 51 year-old already!

It was damn tired to take plane from Kuala Lumpur to Frankfurt and proceed to Toronto. It took 20 hours for the whole flight. I have to say that it's not fun at all. It's hot in the plane.

In my opinion, Malaysia Airlines(MAS) is more comfortable than Lufthansa. I felt like I was burning when I took Lufthansa. It was damn hot! When I took MAS, I ate BBQ chicken as supper. It was around 2 am(in Malaysia time) when I was having my BBQ chicken. I watched Narnia 2: Prince Caspian. The movie is not bad. Then I slept for an hour. When I woke up, it was time to have my breakfast. And I ate NASI LEMAK! Nasi Lemak is a traditional Malay food. It was quite yummy. When I was in Lufthansa, I watched another great movie--21. I ate pasta as lunch( I ordered it because I didn't know what the heck is the second choice food) and hotdog roll as snack after my lunch.

After arriving at Toronto Airport, our senior, Abang Nasri came to fetch us to the campus. It took around 1 hour from the aiport to the campus by airways transit. It's quite cheap since it cost $27.50 Canadian dollars for 14 of us. It took approximately 1 hour from the airport downtown to the campus. I called my landlord to fetch me from the campus since it was late already( around 7.30pm in Canada) althought the sky is still bright. Well, he sent his son to fetch me. He is an active person. We talked quite a lot and he drove me around the town. I ate McDonald as my first dinner as it would be the cheapest food I guess. It cost me $5.05 (a double cheese burger, a chicken burger, french fries and a coke).

After the dinner, misfortune fell upon us. When he drove me around the campus, I saw a police car. After we passed in front of the police car, the police car followed us on the back. We stopped and a cop went out from the car and came to us. It was not a big deal. The cop told us that we couldn't drive to that area. However, he gave us a ticket! OMG, I felt so sorry. Actually, the cop is not a real cop, he is a McMaster University's cop. Although he's not going to pay for the fine, I am still feeling guilty.

After returning to my home, I was damn damn exhausted and I slept like a bear after bathing. LOL......

2008 Beijing Olympic Closing Ceremony

Wowow! It was totally awesome to watch Beijing Olympic closing ceremony live. I hope I was there, but it is impossible since I have no money to buy the entrance ticket. Hehe. Anyhow, it was not bad to watch the closing ceremony in home. 42 world records and 57 Olympic records were broken by the athletes. China won the most gold medal(51 gold medals) and rose to rank 1 in overall medal standings for the first time. However, United States won the most medals (36 golds, 38 silvers and 36 bronzes) which comes to a total of 110. Russia, United States and China still dominate the first three places and I am not surprised since these three countries have dominated the first three places since 2000 Sydney Olympic.

When talking about athletes, you must not forget Michael Phelps, an American swimmer. He won a total of 8 gold medals and successfully surpass Mark Spitz, who was also an American swimmer that had held 7 gold medals that he won at 1972 Olympic Games, create a new Olympic record by winning the most medals at a single Olympic. The another surprise is from Usain Bolt, a well-known field and sprint athlete. He breaks 3 world records( 100m , 400m and 400m relay). He is the first man to win all three events at a single Olympic since Carl Lewis in 1984, and the first man in history to set world records in all three at a single Olympic. These two men have a very bright future. Hope to see them in 2012 London Olympic. Oh ya, I almost forgot about another power that could possible challenge the domination of China, Russia and America in the next Olympic Games-- Great Britain. Great Britain was at rank 4 in this game and only 4 golds less than Russia. It seems like there will be a fiery competition among the dominant-countries and the host-country in 2012 Olympic Games. I can't wait!

My lovely home-country, Malaysia only won a silver and was ranked 71 out of 204 countries that participating in 29th Beijing Olympic. Nevertheless, I am so proud of Malaysia. All the athletes had tried their best. Although they didn't win in their match, they won the spirit of Olympic.

If compared to the opening ceremony, the closing ceremony is more simple but magnificent. I've taken "a few"(actually it's quite a lot, haha) photos to share with all of you. I hope you all enjoy these photos. Cheers to Beijing Olympic 2008! Hoho
